Word from the White House today to those who hire illegals - we are coming after you! But wait we do not have any new legislation SO WE ARE GOING TO ENFORCE THE CURRENT LAWS!!! That would lead one to assume that we have not been enforcing current law - which raises the question as to how all of those supporting the most recent immigration bill can claim that the current law wasn't working. It is a little hard to know if something works if it is not being enforced. I also find it interesting that the President is stepping out on this, because it stands to reason that if the current enforcements work any need for his immigration plan would be obsolete. So what is the objective here, to actually take care of immigration, to make people think they are taking care of immigration or as the news reporter suggested to put the pressure on those hiring which will put the pressure on those in Congress to bring the bill back to the floor.  One more thought to ponder - according to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, the fines and penalties under the new bill would be worse then under the old, so why would those who have been caught breaking the current law want a law that penalizes violators more? Thoughts anyone?
